Savory NuWave Recipes
WELCOME – You Are In For A TREAT!
This page will specifically feature recipes myself and a friend will be making with our NuWave “Easy Bake Ovens”. I still can’t believe how excited I am about this thing.
Though the cookbook that comes with the oven is good, it really is limited in scope and creativity so I’ve partnered up with a cooking buddy who bought a NuWave Pro the same day I did.
We will be publishing our trials, failures and delicious results on a regular basis on this page. I would love readers to submit your NuWave delights as well in the comment box. Pictures would also be fantastic!

- Pat down on the ham and add the rest of cola. Pour slowly.

Tilapia and Asparagus 2.7.11
Tilapia is a fish that has a taste very similar to fresh water trout that is high in protein and very low in fat; perfect for any one trying to lose weight. Most of the Tilapia I have purchased has come in a frozen package, which is why it’s so easy to make in the NuWave Oven.
- Pull from freezer
- Season
- Bake
- Serve
Place frozen Tilapia on the 4″ rack. Brush just a tiny bit of olive oil on both sides so seasoning will stick. Lemon pepper and a touch of salt is the perfect seasoning for this dish.
Push power on high and set timer for 7 minutes, then go wash your hair or do something fun. When the oven beeps it’s time to flip the fish and then cook if for 3 minutes. After the 3 minute cycle, add the asparagus around the sides of the fish. Season the asparagus with olive oil and a bit of salt and pepper.
The asparagus and fish will then cook together for an additional 7 minutes. Here’s the photo finish!

Glazed Rum Cookies The NuWave Way
Glazed rum cookies are best for a night indoors with your loved one. Complete your dinner date with this easy to make scrumptious dessert! Another way to have fun with your special someone is to invite him/her to make the cookies with you as a sort of bonding moment. This dessert is easy to make. It is recommended that you use a Convection Baking oven for maximum quality results. Baking convection ovens use a heating element plus fans to evenly cook/bake whatever you want. This is specially useful when you make a lot of cookies at once and use 2 or more rows.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cupfinely chopped walnuts
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon rum flavored extract
- 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/8 teaspoon rum flavored extract
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Beat the butter or margarine in a large mixing bowl at medium speed until very creamy. Gradually add the 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, nuts and salt add to the butter mixture and beat until just blended. Stir in the rum extract. Shape cookies into 1inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten cookies down. Bake in a convection oven at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes. When cool spread with Rum Glaze.
To Make Rum Glaze: Combine the 3/4 cup confectioners’ sugar, milk and 1/8 teaspoon rum extract. Stir until smooth.
I hope you have enjoyed making this recipe and cheers for a job well done! Enjoy the cookies with your favorite drink over dinner for an unforgettable experience.

STEAK – POTATOES & SPROUTS – The Savory Way Using the NuWave Oven Pro!
There’s is nothing to this Delicious Boneless Sirloin Steak Recipe!
1″ Boneless sirloin steak – straight from the freezer.
Olive Oil – just to get your seasoning to stick to the frozen steak. If you don’t want to use oil, water will work just fine.
Seasoning – Use any of your favorites, I used garlic salt and pepper
Season the potatoes and sprouts also according to taste – these also need an olive oil, butter or oil spray to prevent them from drying out while cooking.
Place the meat on the 4″ rack (the 1″ flipped up side down) along with the small red or yellow potatoes and sprouts surrounding the steak on the same rack. Set on high cook for 11 to 18 minutes according to how “rare” you like your meat.
Once the timer peeps, it is then time to flip the potatoes, sprouts and steak. The flipping is necessary to provide even cooking and browning. I like to add additional oil and seasoning in the flipping process to add extra flavor.
Set the timer again to 14 minutes and get back to what you were doing! Once it beeps again – check and poke to ensure the meal is ready to eat. Some times you may have to tweek cooking time based on size and density of the vege’s and meat.

The NuWave Oven Pot Roast Recipe – Could Have Been Better
Made a NuWave Oven 20322 Pot Roast yesterday. I have to admit, it was
horrible. I followed the directions in the NuWave cook book that comes with the oven.
I’ll never use that recipe again! But, not to point the finger totally at the oven since I’ve loved it for everything else, it could have been my choice of meat. It was a Chuck roast, that had great fat veining, so I sort of doubt it.
Anyway, it was dry and horribly chewy. I don’t think the grilling method is the way to go with a roast. I’m gonna try it again with the baking tray and some beef broth. I’ll post the 2nd attempt when I get to making it.
Today it’s the tried and delicious try baked chicken! Me and the NuWave Oven are the best of friends for this dish!
In fact, I would recommend anyone start with the chicken for a first NuWave oven meal, it is soooo easy and especially moist and yummy.
Stay tuned….oh, I would love to see your recipes and hear about your NuWave cooking experience…you send it, I’ll post it.

For mushrooms
- Place all ingredients in a saute pan and let cook until all liquid is gone from the pan, stirring in between. This is called a dry sec.
- Serve mushrooms over the steak (please keep in mind that alcohol cooks out of the mushrooms and your left with the taste of the grape).
